Test Event of the new BUTTERFLY rubber

BRYCE SPEED

Werner Schlager, Jun Mizutani and other top international players participated.

The first Test Event of the new High Tension rubber, BRYCE SPEED, was organized at the BUTTERFLY’s Dohjo Training Hall on 19th June 2007 in Tokyo. BRYCE SPEED is scheduled to be introduced into the market in this autumn. Leading national and international players, such as Werner Schlager (Austria), Michael Maze (Denmark), Jun Mizutani (Japan) and other top BUTTERFLY players have tested this brand new rubber in advance

Werner Schlager is highly concentrated

It was the first testing event of the new rubber, BRYCE SPEED, that should surpass the playing quality of its base version BRYCE (1997). The date of this test event was quite favourable for all participating leading players, since the Volkswagen Open – Japan was to start two days later in Chiba, near 2 Tokyo. The former World Champion, Werner Schlager (Austria), the bronze medalist of the Shanghai World Championship, Michael Maze (Denmark), Petr Korbel (Czech Republic), Zoran Primorac (Croatia), Tamara Boros (Croatia) and some other top players visited this important event.

The ITTF has decided in Zagreb to start to detect all volatile organic solvents at the racket control from 1st September 2008 at their senior events. It means that these professional players have a little more than one year time to continue to play with today’s rackets and rubbers. However, all of them watched, touched, weighed and tried them extremely seriously. They exchanged their views with the BUTTERFLY staff members in charge of Research and Development enthusiastically.

Michael Maze                                 Petr Korbel is very accurate

From Japan, Jun Mizutani, the defending National Champion, Seiya Kishikawa, a quarter-finalist of the World Men’s Doubles Championship, Kenta Matsudaira, the World Junior Champion, Aya Umemura, the former Japan Champion, and many others participated. The Japan Table Tennis Association has decided to start the strict racket control from 1st September this year for all junior and senior events. There are only two months left; all Japanese players have tested the new BRYCE SPEED in various playing scenes.

Jun Mizutani is obviously satisfied
